View Full Version : Quick Easy Yummy Bread?

I need a yummy fruit bread recipe like cranberry or something that I can make in the oven, not in a bread maker... if anyone knows of any please let me know. I need to make it for Saturday. LOL.

INGREDIENTS:

3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup applesauce
3 eggs (http://eggs)
1 3/4 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking (http://baking) soda
1 teaspoon salt (http://salt)
3 cups peeled, cored and cubed apples
1 cup chopped walnuts
DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Lightly grease two 9x5 inch loaf pans. In a large bowl, stir together oil, applesauce, eggs, sugar and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, sift together flour cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Gradually stir flour mixture into wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Fold in apples and walnuts. Pour batter into prepared pans.
Bake (http://Bake) in preheated oven for 70 minutes, until a knife inserted in the center of a loaf comes out clean.^^^ looks good imo

You can easily change the flavor of that bread recipe that Mo posted by ommited the cinnamon/apples and substituting another dried fruit. :) The applesauce in that recipe will be fine, as it's mostly supplying moisture so you don't have to use a full cup of oil.

What about Banana bread?

I made the bread...everyone really liked it. Only it took way longer to cook then it was supposed to because I read the recipe too fast and missed that the 150 was in celsius and didnt see the F reading. But it definitely turned out good.

I ended up using one and a half cups dried cranberries in each bread and then in one of them I used one and a half cubs of apricots and the other one and a half cups of dried papaya.

I also used orange flavoring instead of vanilla in the one with papaya and almond flavoring in the one with apricot.

I also dropped the cinnamin and used cinnamin flavored applesauce.
